“The Street” - Artwork by Soul Palette Art

Mallee artist Belinda Wood created the artwork after observing a change of energy in the community. Farmers, community and energy project developers all wanted their voices heard. The vibrant work captured the attention of WMEAP after it was shared on social media by advocacy group Farms For Food.

WMEAP were privileged to speak with Belinda and hear the inspiration behind the work.  Depicting “The Street”, a healthy and vibrant environment, abundance in the town depicted by crops and sheep; the beautiful night sky.  The owl who can see through darkness, through the secrecy - offers a message for the community who is struggling with the impending impact of development.

Belinda has generously lent the artwork for use on WMEAP website and social media accounts.

Copies of this print and other works by Belinda are available through her Facebook page Soul Palette Art
